Dr Lorene Dennis has enjoyed the benefits of Chiropractic Care since she was a baby. Now, with children of her own, including a daughter with Down Syndrome, she has been on a wonderful adventure exploring the latest techniques that she can use to help all families, especially those with different abilities. At present, she is among a select group of NZ Chiropractors studying a two year Diplomate in Chiropractic Neuro-developmental Paediatrics in Melbourne.
Dr Lorene is passionate about seeing the genius in all children and uses a holistic approach that includes movement, nutrition and neurology to help each individual be the best version of themselves. In particular, she looks at where the child is at developmentally and what can be done to ensure all systems are fully connected to assist them move on to the next stage. This includes looking at nutrition, movement and supporting care with a home programme
Debbie Janes is a highly qualified Chiropractic Assistant and Practice Manager with over twenty years experience caring for children of all ages. She specializes in creating a kind and friendly healing environment that places you and your family at ease from the second you walk in the door. Her ability to communicate in simple terms, in particular with children with special needs, is the often the beginning of the road to recovery for their parents as well.
Originally from South Africa, a keen sportswoman representing her province in swimming, Dr Shira’s interest in healthcare began while exposed to her father’s physiotherapy practice. It was during this time that she learned the importance that every part of the body has in maintaining optimal function.
Dr Shira volunteered in the Las Escobas Rainforest on the Caribbean coast of Guatemala helping transform the lives of the local community. While there, she also learned to speak Spanish. It was in Guatemala that she was introduced to Chiropractic and its philosophies and instantly knew she wanted to be a Chiropractor.
She enrolled in the Chiropractic program at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa and after the first year transferred to the New Zealand College of Chiropractic in Auckland, regarded worldwide as a top chiropractic institution. Here, she was fortunate to be selected to represent New Zealand at 5 annual international congresses in Brazil, Australia, South Africa, Spain and America. During her final year of studies, Dr Shira earned the Meritorious Service Student of the Year Award and was also nominated for the New Zealand Private Education Providers Student of the Year Award. Dr Shira was elected to the international Board of Directors for the World Congreess of Chiropractic Students and now serves on the council for the New Zealand Chiropractors’ Association. She has also been an assitant lecturer in technique at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic.
Since graduating, Dr Shira has practiced in Auckland and is thrilled to now be based on the North Shore where she grew up. Dr Shira is skilled in a wide range of Chiropractic adjusting approaches and uses techniques like Sacral Occiptal Technique (SOT), Torque Release Technique (TRT), Biogeometric Integration (BGI), Activator, Thompson and Diversified. She has also completed specialised pediatric studies which enable her to effectively care for babies, children and pregnant women.
Dr Shira is currently studying towards a Masters degree in Health Science at AUT, with a focus on nutrition. She is a keen foodie and in constantly creating new, healthy and tasty creations which she shares with her practice. Stay tuned for her specialised cook book designed specifically to help mums introduce solid foods to their babies at correct times and then continue feeding their family nourishing, delicious and inspired meals to take them right the way through their development.
Dr Dipal was born and brought up in Auckland. She discovered Chiropractic after suffering from poor health and receiving no benefit from medications and specialist help. Since starting care she noticed a huge difference in her quality of life. It is this experience that inspired her to become a Chiropractor to help others to discover the benefits of care. Dr Dipal has a keen interest in paediatric care and uses a range of gentle techniques to help you achieve your health goals.
